USC Rossier School of Education

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of USC. All opinions are 100% mine.

As important as a good education is, it is sometimes very difficult to find the time to attend classes – especially if you are a working adult with a family to support. Luckily, the option of earning a degree online is more readily available than it has been in the past.

Thanks to convenience and flexibility, aspiring and current teachers can attend the USC Rossier School of Education’s MAT@USC elite university to earn their prestigious Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from a School of Education that has been ranked #9 among all private universities by US News and World Report and #22 in the United States. Thanks to their highly interactive learning program combined with field-based experience and accelerated programs, you can complete your degree in as few as 12 months!

The program includes technological video that introduces the interactivity of the program, and AACTE awarded Rossier and the MAT@USC for their innovative use of technology in education. Also, if you are looking for program information and want to hear real testimonials from actual students, you can do so through the MAT@USC Student Blog.

Attending USC also offers the opportunity to join the elite USC Trojan family as well as gain full USC student status and benefits, including participating in commencement ceremonies and a free lifetime Alumni Association membership.

Since money is typically a huge issue when it comes to going to college – either for the first time or returning – it’s important to know that thanks to USC’s groundbreaking tuition reimbursement program and scholarships, money is less of an issue. So why not look into a good opportunity to further your education in a convenient way?

July = fail, August = so far, so good

It looks like the horrid July fail has not seeped into August so far. After all the trouble my sister had with the place she was planning to move into and the whole deal falling through, today she found a place. I guess it all happened very fast because she’s been working on cleaning up the place most of today. I guess it’s a four-bedroom house, so that would definitely be nice. I just hope that she can keep it up because the rent is pretty high. But it’s good news, nonetheless.

Sprucing and Expiring

I’ve been thinking about how I want to update my domain and spruce the site up a bit. It’s usually something I tend to think about more than actually do, but I’ve got a few ideas that I can, hopefully, put into motion soon.

It’s baffling to me that failed-to-say.net will be seven years old this December. Furthermore, in the seven years since I bought, I’ve owned three more domains and purchased and hosted two others for a friend. Two of the domains I owned are actually up for renewal in August. One of them was a gift for a friend that I won’t be renewing, and the other is one that I bought a few years ago and have decided to let expire since I haven’t put it to much use.

It was a difficult, but necessary, decision. Parting with a domain that I loved, but haven’t really used, makes me sad, but I’m happy with the other three that I will still have.

I’ve come a long way since I bought my first one. I really had no idea what I was doing when I bought it, and most of my friends were pretty clueless as well, which is unfortunate. Maybe if I’d had better references, it would have been an easier process.

I think the most difficult part was choosing a good vps web hosting service. The first hosting service I used was not the best by any measure. There were a lot of problems and getting help wasn’t always easy. I found a new hosting service eventually, and while the move to the new server was a bit tedious, it was definitely for the best.

Like anything, of course, there has been the occasional issue, but getting help or having my questions answered has always come very quickly, which I truly appreciate.

Anyway, I’m hoping to make some content changes very soon. Failed-to-say.net has gone through several changes since I bought it, and while I’ve ventured away from my initial uses for it, I would like to whip it into shape and add some things to make it better.

Silent, Quiet, Blissful Silence

Today, the house is quiet.

Normally, quiet bothers me. I usually have to turn on some music, even if only just as background noise.

Today, I’m basking in it.

I know I touched briefly on this, but I really didn’t go into much detail about the situation, but my sister has been staying with us for the last month. She had only planned to be here a couple of weeks because she had to be out of her old place and her new one wouldn’t be available right away.

When she went to see about getting into the new one, she was told it would be another week because they were still working on getting things ready for her to move in. Then, this week she went to see about getting in and she was told it would be another week, after she made the down payment.

Now, she’s reluctant to hand over somewhere around $500 when she isn’t sure that come next Friday the place will actually be ready. I understand her hesitation. I would be wary as well.

However, there is a part of me that is just ready for her to move out. I love my sister, niece and nephew. Truly, I do. But I just really want my home back.

Since my sister has been here, her stuff seems to have taken over the living room and kitchen. The living room looks like a baby’s nursery threw up all over it. The baby’s pack and play takes up most of the room, which was small to begin with, and there’s really nowhere to sit in the living room, so I’ve essentially exiled myself to my bedroom because if I wasn’t claustrophobic before, I may very well be now.

It’s just a frustrating situation and made moreso by the fact that there’s really nowhere to place the blame.

Regardless, today, my mom had the day off from work, and she is watching my niece and nephew while my sister is a work. It’s been a nice reprieve because nephew is almost seven months old. As of yesterday, he started crawling and got his first tooth. While these are both exciting developments, the teething has been anything but fun. I’ve heard my nephew cry and throw more fits this week than I have in the seven month since he was born.

So, for now, I shall enjoy the blissfulness of the quietude; at least, until the young ones return.

Ramblers Way: American Made

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.

Living in a small farm town, I grew up amidst a lot of smaller locally owned mom and pops shops. The next town over was only slightly larger, and while not quite was concentrated in farming, it was also a mishmash of locally owned businesses with a few larger factory jobs that seemed to pull people in to the area and helped to make mom and pop shops a possibility for most people.

In recent years many jobs have been outsourced, mostly because of the cheaper labor, and have left many people without jobs and even caused many shops to close up. It’s sad to see once sprawling areas to be nothing more than empty buildings with ‘for rent’ or ‘for sale’ signs hung in the windows.

Ramblers Way Farm, however, is taking strides to change the way of American Business by bringing manufacturing facilities into small, distressed towns to help revitalize these communities. Ramblers Way is a company that sources, grows and produces their fine woolen appareal, which means their appareal is 100% Made in America.

If more corporations carried the same value and commitment to revitalizing small towns, I believe America would be in a much better state. Instead of worrying about finding the cheapest way, companies should be looking at the quality as well as how it may help to better a community.

Ramblers Way not only seems to care about the smalls towns of America, but also has respect for historical preservation. The Ramblers Way Corporate Office resides in Kennebunk, Maine in a building originally built in 1792. While it has been fully refurbished to it’s original condition, it also being modernized to fit the environmental standards of today.
