Lint Magnet
Thursday, December 20th, 2007

I’ve realized that I’m incapable of wearing dark t-shirts. It seems like I’m a magnet for lint, and I shed so much hair that it’s ridiculous. Everyone teases me and says it’s a wonder I’m not bald. It hasn’t been as bad since I cut my hair, but I should have bought my grandma some lint b gone for Christmas. Lord knows half of the lint collected in the dryer probably comes from me. Maybe if I just got myself a lint brush it would help. Maybe someone would be nice enough to buy me one for Christmas. I doubt it, but at least it’s a thought.

Mom’s Birthday
Thursday, December 20th, 2007

Well, today is my mom’s birthday. She just turned 41. I don’t think she looks her age, honestly. I don’t know. I guess that’s a good thing, though. Maybe it will be a genetic thing. God knows my dad looks old, so my mom looking young might help balance things out. Of course, my mom dad smokes and drinks and that’s sure to age him quite a bit.

Anyway, dinner was good. My mom seemed to like all of her gifts as well, so she seemed rather happy. It was a good time. I, honestly, like when we get together for birthdays and stuff. It’s nice to have the whole family together and just talk. We don’t seem to do enough of that.

The weather’s been weird. It’s supposed to warm up a bit for the next couple of days before it gets cold again. I think the snow and ice has been taking it’s toll on my internet connection. Sometimes it will go out for an hour or so at a time. It’s rather annoying, honestly.

My grandpa ran Norton’s to scan the computer last week. There were a few files on the computer that needed to be fixed and some other security fixes. It would be nice if we used cisco. They have firewalls and intrusion detection systems, but that’s more for bigger networks, so it’s way out of our price range. Oh well, I guess Norton’s will do for now.

Last Minute Shopping
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

It’s ridiculous how early it gets dark. Grandma and I left around half past five and it was getting dark then. By the time we left the grocery store, it looked so much later than it was. We stopped by Best Buy. It was pretty busy, but I managed to get mom her Daughtry CD. The line wasn’t too long either, so that was nice.

I’m beginning to think my grandpa could use some storage stuff. He’s such a mess, honestly. He never seems to know where anything is. Maybe I should have looked into some sort of tool storage. Oh well. I doubt it would do much good since he probably wouldn’t use it. Ugh.

Dieting.
Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

My mom’s birthday is tomorrow, and we’re having lasagna for dinner. Grandma and I are going to the store in just a little bit to pick up the stuff to make it. We’re also getting stuff for Christmas. I’m making a cheesecake, veggie rolls up, turkey roll ups and a cheese ball, so we need a whole lot of cream cheese.

After the holidays I’m going on a diet. I just have to. I’m so sick of the way I look right now, and it always seems like I put on more weight during the winter. I would love to try using the diet patch. I need something to help suppress my appetite. I don’t know what I’m going to do yet, but I really need to do something. I’m sure I say this every year, but I want to lose weight. No, I need to lose weight.

Winter.
Monday, December 17th, 2007

Well, it’s pretty icky outside right now. My brother’s school was closed today, and my grandparents got stuck in the driveway this morning when they were leaving. My sister also said her car didn’t want to start, which is probably indication that my car won’t want to start either. I’m not brave enough to bundle up and go outside and give it a try, though.

I really do need a new car, though. Something big and durable with four-wheel drive. Maybe I need a truck. At least I know that wouldn’t be as likely to get stuck in the snow. But can you imagine? Me in a big truck, bright lights and four wheel drive, complete with a truck rack on top? It would be completely ridiculous. I think after driving my car for the last three years that driving anything bigger would seem huge. I’m not sure I could do it.

I’ll be glad when winter is over, though. I hate this time of year. It’s too cold, too hard to get anyway and it just makes me want to stay inside and hibernate like a bear.
