So close, yet so far away.
Thursday, November 29th, 2007

The end of NaNoWriMo is so close, and I’m so close to finishing. Yet it seems so far away. A chapter and a half shouldn’t be this hard to finish. Really. It’s ridiculous. My plan is to finish Chapter 19 before I leave for class today. Then tomorrow will be dedicated to writing Chapter 20. I want to be done by midnight tomorrow. Then I’ll have met my personal goal for the whole thing. I just hope I can focus and tie things up the way I’ve been thinking of them in my head. It always seems so much easier in my head. Then I go to write it down and it just seems to become a struggle. Oddly enough, I’ve found that writing things out by hand has helped a lot. I didn’t think it would, but maybe it’s because there are less distractions when I’m tucked away in my bedroom and I don’t think about looking up something on the internet or talking to friends.

NaNo Update
Saturday, November 10th, 2007

36454 / 50000 words. 73% done!

Well, my word count is getting closer to the goal. I wish I could say the same for the chapters. I’m on the eighth chapter right now. I still have about half of it left to write, but I’m hoping to catch up on the chapters this weekend, so that mean I need to finish through Chapter 11 by Monday. Eep. It’s going to be tough!

Daylight Savings Time
Sunday, November 4th, 2007

I had a weird dream last night. The details are all pretty fuzzy, but I remember something about Las Vegas. Beyond that, I don’t remember much. I’m still feeling kind of confused because of Daylight Savings Time. I feel all off kilter because of it, but hopefully I’ll adjust.

I have some writing to do today. I’ve been writing a chapter a day since NaNoWriMo starts, so I’m pretty proud of myself for that. I only have 25 chapters left to go. God help me! I just hope I don’t get too bogged down with class related stuff to keep up with my writing.

In A Funk
Friday, October 26th, 2007

Blah. This is all I have to say about this week because that’s pretty much how I’ve felt the whole time. I feel tired and distracted, and I haven’t been able to focus on much of anything. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I guess I’m just tired.

Honestly, I’m a little worried about doing NaNoWriMo this year. I’m just not amped up for it like I was before. I guess because I have so much stuff that’s going on. I have a lot of assignments for my classes that I need to buckle down and work on. I’m planning to try to work my way through as much of that as I can this weekend. We’ll see how that goes.

While thinking about NaNo, I’ve been thinking that maybe the next time I write a new story, I should try a new location. Maybe a desert. I could look into Arizona real estate and come up with something new. Although I must admit that as of late, I haven’t felt much like doing any writing. I’m in a funk, and I really need to get out of it by next Thursday.

Prepress and work space
Friday, August 24th, 2007

I finally got me books today. I was beginning to wonder if they would ever come. Luckily, they arrived today. In all three classes, they said we’d have some reading assignments, so it made me a little worried about not having them. Class last night only lasted for about an hour. It doesn’t seem like it’s going to be too bad of a class. It’s mostly about prepress stuff. My grandpa should be happy to hear that because he keeps asking me if we’ve talked about that.

I’m going to try to do some writing today. I’ll have to get all of my notes out to refer to. We could really use a larger desk in here because there isn’t a whole lot of work space. I need one of those executive desks when it comes to writing because I usually have a notebook and a couple of folders full of things to refer to and it’s hard to find them when they’re all piled on top of each other. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’d be able to fit a bigger desk in here. :( I’ll just have to make due.
