The custody hearing for my niece was today. My grandma was late getting there and getting the full story from my sister is next to impossible. Suffice it to say, things ended a little strangely. The hearing was continued until the end of next month. In the meantime, my grandma was granted temporary custody of my niece. As I said, we’re not exactly sure how this happened. It came down to her dad or my grandma getting custody. I have no idea why my sister wasn’t an option. She’s supposed to get a lawyer before the next hearing, and I guess things will go from there. I don’t really know what to think of it. It’s all a bit of a mess.

I hate bills, and I hate being a grown. I really, really do. It’s frustrating and a never ending cycle that often never seems to have an end in sight. It’s also frustrating that right after finishing college, education aside, I was already in debt. What kind of sense does that make? I should have at least been allowed the chance to screw that up for myself instead of been punished for wanting an education. Sometimes I think it would have just been easier to start flipping burgers then, because degree or not, there’s nothing out, as far as jobs go – at least in the area I studied or so it seems – and I’ll probably end up working in a burger joint the rest of my life anyway. Lovely.
