Long Day
Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

It’s been a long day. I went to class at 1:30, but I only stayed until around 3:15. We had to present our posters to two women from the Rescue Mission. They were both really nice and seemed to respond really well to everyone’s posters, so I have no idea who’s they might choose.

One of the guys in my class was talking about how he won a trip to the Bahamas. I must admit, I’m jealous. It reminded me of all of the Orlando vacations my dad used to promise me that never happened. I guess it will be something I’ll have to do on my own one of these days.

Anyway, I came home after my first classes for about two hours. I ate some dinner and watched a couple of episodes of Queer As Folk. I’m pretty sure I’m certifiably obsessed with the show. Then tonight in class we talked about coloring pictures as well as some more stuff to do with restorations. I have a feeling that I’m going to be quite busy on Friday in lab.

I hate money.
Thursday, October 18th, 2007

I hate money. I really do. Probably mostly because I never have enough of it, and what I do have never lasts long. With Christmas coming up, I really need to do a better job of keeping track of what I’m spending on what. I do use a sort of budgeting software, but I’m not always that great at keeping track of things. I’m just freaking out now because I have gifts to buy and bills to pay. Blah.

I have to go to the lab tomorrow. We started working on image restoration in my imaging class, and I have a few things to work on for my digital production class. I think I’m going to go in around 10 or so to work on things. I’m not looking forward to getting up early, but that’s life, isn’t it?

I’ve also recently found a new obsession. Queer As Folk. I love it, love it, love it! I’ve been watching it every chance I get for the last few days. :)

Getting Old
Thursday, September 20th, 2007

My birthday is Monday. 24 on the 24th. O GAWD IM GETTING OLD. Yikes. I requested my grandma make lasagna, and I think we’re having a dinner/cake on Saturday night. Haven’t worked out the details. If Allyson doesn’t work Sunday, we might have it then.

Allyson sprained her ankle Tuesday night when she got home. She was carrying a bunch of stuff + Tori and took a spill on the step leading into the house. She has a soft cast and will be on crutches for 5 - 6 days. On top of that, she was already sick and went to the doctor, who told her she had swollen glands, fluid on her lungs and would be contagious for a few days. She’d already missed a couple of days of work. So bad week for the little sis.

Dexter. Free. Channel 101. DirectTV. Love. Those are the only words I have to say. ;)

I started watching the first season of House last night. I watched all four episodes on the first disc, and it just reminded me why I love that show so much. I’m excited for the new season to start. Heroes, House, CSI. Next week is looking good.

I need to start researching more for my NaNoWriMo story. I think this Wilmington NC real estate website might be useful. While the story is mostly set in New York, I have a few ideas about a change of location for a chapter or two.

Too busy!
Saturday, September 8th, 2007

Wow, it’s been a while! I hadn’t realized it had been about a week since my last post. I’ve been busy. I’ve had a lot of assignments from class that I’m trying to stay on top of. I’m about finished with my texture scene assignment. Just a few things left to add in and some other things to clean up a bit, but it should be done by Wednesday, which is when it’s due.

I’ve been pretty stressed out the last week over all the assignments, but I think I’m managing. I went to the computer lab on Friday and I made a lot of headway on my different assignments. I slept in late today. I’m in the middle of doing laundry. I’ve been putting it off all week. And I’m just now getting around to watching the first disc of season one of Dexter. I’ve had it since Wednesday or Thursday, but I just haven’t had the time to watch until now.

It seems really dark and dreary here today. My grandma said it was really nice in town, but I have to turn on a light in just about every room I want into. We went to the store last night, but I think we forgot to get light bulbs yet again. I only seem to think of it at night, but the table lamp in the living room needs a new light bulb. I usually turn that light on if I’m going into the kitchen because it gives off just enough light so that I can see without bothering my grandparents if they’re in bed. Oh well.

Answer the Phone, Please?
Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

I’m very annoyed right now. I tried to call the financial aid office at my school, and all I got was the voice mail. That was what happened the last time. I wonder if the woman ever actually answers the phone. I think I’m going to try calling again later, and if she doesn’t answer, I’ll leave a message this time. It’s annoying, though, because they send something a letter saying they need this or that when I’ve already turned it in, and then I try to call and see what’s going on, no one answers the phone.

Last night I started watching this show. I think it was called “My House Is Worth What?” It was basically about real estate and how much the worth of the house goes up or down over time and with improvements. It was kind of amazing how much the worth of some of the houses went up.

There really hasn’t been much on TV lately, which is why I was watching that show. I should be getting another movie from Netflix tomorrow. I think RV is up next on my queue. My grandma wants to see Disturbia, and I’m going to move it up on the queue once it’s actually released. I believe that it will be out on the 7th of August.

I also pre-ordered Eisley’s new CD - Combinations - today. It comes out on the 14th, and I’m really looking forward to hearing it. I ordered the CD/DVD combo and I’m supposed to get a free signed lithograph with it as well, so that’s exciting.
