Home Decor and Scrapbooking

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

It’s definitely Saturday. I wanted to sleep in and do nothing this morning. When I woke up, Nikki and I watched a show where people were getting a room made over. They went to the flea market and garage sales to find home furniture to use in their rooms. The second one we watched like that was kind of weird. I didn’t really like what they did with the room. Instead of a guest room, it looked like something for a 15-year-old girl.

I think today we’re going to work on scrapbooking. We really can’t go anywhere because they’re getting ready to chip seal our road, and yesterday they came down and put oil down. I’m sure my car would be a massive mess if I tried to drive down it since it’s white. Besides, we have a lot of scrapbooking to do anyway. That should keep us busy for a while.

Come dinner time we’ll get to try to figure out what we’re allowed to have to eat. I think we’re both sticking with our diets pretty well. It’s just kind of hard trying to keep track of every little thing. I think it’s harder for Nikki since she has to count calories and how many grams of fat are in what she’s having to eat. I just have to keep track of points. Fun stuff.

A Whiney, Lazy, Ranty Post

Friday, July 13th, 2007

I wish I could quit coughing. The stupid sneezing as subsided, but now I’ve just been coughing. My throat really hurts from it too. I have cough drops, but I’m not entirely sure they’re helping all that much. My lips are also extremely chapped. It looks like I’m wearing lipstick because they’re so pink/red. It really hurts.

Yesterday, Nikki and I hung out around here. We were just being kind of lazy, I suppose. We watched A Night At the Museum, and then later we watched more of The Stand. We still have about an hour or so of it left to watch. It’s insanely long. We played Rummikub with my grandma and brother too, but that only lasted about three rounds. Then we did some more scrapbooking. I’ve finished about three pages so far. I still have tons of pages I want to do. I’m just feeling a little overwhelmed trying to figure out what I want to do.

I’m not sure what we’re going to do today. We’ll probably just hang out around here again and watch TV. But I swear if I have to hear another thing about Paris Hilton, I’ll scream. I think she’s about the most worthless person on the face of the earth. Why can’t she be more like George Lindemann Jr? He’s a rich heir that collects art and is benefactor to museums. In other words, he actually does something other than show up and have his picture taken. The other night on one of those entertainment shows - ET or something like it - they actually spent about five minutes discussing what Paris Hilton ate while she played poker. Do people seriously care about this sort of stuff?

Busy Busy

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

I haven’t posted in a couple of days because I’ve been busy. Nikki arrived on Tuesday. Of course, her bus was about an hour late, but she did make her connecting bus, so at least she wasn’t way late. We came back home and ate dinner and just hung out for a while before it was time to leave to go to see Order of the Phoenix.

We got there around a quarter after eleven, and if we would have got there any later, I don’t know if we would have been able to find any seats together. It was completely sold out, and the people sitting in the row behind us was really annoying. The movie, however, was amazing. I think I say this every time, but this was definitely my favorite. I just loved the whole thing.

Then yesterday Nikki and I went to the mall. We got cute purses at Target that were on sale, and I got a new t-shirt. Then we went to Old Navy. I got another 4th of July shirt on sale for $3.50 and a couple more pair of flip flops that were on sale for $2 each. Then we pre-ordered Deathly Hallows before going over to Bath and Body Works. They were having some great sales, and I got a new scent of body spray, lotion, and body wash - Exotic Coconut. Then we went to Blondie’s Cookies and got a few cookies because I told Nikki she has to try them. We looked around Hot Topic, but we didn’t find anything there, so then we went to Starbucks and sat and rested for a while before we headed over to Hobby Lobby to load up on scrapbooking stuff. I seriously think I’m in debt after that. Then we went to Applebees for dinner. Nikki had a couple of drinks to celebrate her 21st birthday, even though she was about a year late. Then we stopped at home for a little bit before heading up to my mom’s. We stopped at Dollar General first because they had scrapbooks, and we both needed one.

We hung out at my mom’s for a while. Then my sister came home. The poor girl looked exhausted. She works at a facility for disabled kids, and she said she got head-butted and her nose started bleeding and wouldn’t stop. I think it’s a wonder she didn’t need to have nose surgery or something. She said it really hurt. I really hope she can find a job at the hospital because I really think it would be better for her. She said where she’s working now is extremely understaffed, but she did just call and say she got a $.20 raise. Apparently, she got it without knowing it because it showed up on her newest check.

So that’s just the been the last day or so. I’m not sure what Nikki and I will be doing today. We’ll probably work on our scrapbooking and hang out around here. I guess we’ll see.

Confused.

Monday, June 11th, 2007

I felt so confused all day yesterday. For some reason it just felt like Monday. Maybe it was because we had Tori. Either way, I just felt totally confused all day long. Not to mention, I was tired. I slept late again today, but that was because I stayed up late watching a movie on TV. Of course it was one of those movies that was probably four hours long and was on either really late or really early, so there was really no good time to watch. So annoying. I was all set to go to bed too, but then I started watching. Oh well. I have some laundry I need to do today, and some other random stuff. I was thinking about sorting through my scrapbooking stuff again and trying to put it into some sort of order since Nikki and I are planning to work on a scrapbook while she’s here. I’m so excited. I can’t wait for July.

Scrapbooking

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

I am such a pack rat. I’ve been going through some old shoe boxes with stuff inside, and I found all kinds of cards and letters. Stuff I forgot about even getting. It’s weird. I’m trying to organize all of my scrapbooking stuff, but I have so much yet so little room for storage. I saved this huge box that the coat my mom bought me for Christmas came in, and I’m going to store some of my stuff in there. I just hope it all fits. Then the next challenge is finding a place to put it. My bedroom is just too small for all of my stuff. Either I need to move or I need to stop saving everything. ;)
