Allergies, Ew
Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

Ugh, I think my allergies are starting to finally get to me. Yesterday, I started couching and could not stop. I found some cold medicine and it seemed to help. I also had a horrible headache. It was so bad I had to lie down for a while, and I thought I’d just be out for an hour or so. I didn’t wake up until about four hours later. I got up but was back in bed a couple of hours later.

I’ve got some stuff to do for work, but it’s hard with Blaine here because it’s good at distracting me. He always want to watch a movie. We’ve already watched all of my Harry Potter movies. I don’t have a whole lot beyond that, but I’m sure he’ll manage to find something.

I’ve also been trying to get back into writing. I’ve had an idea rolling around in my head to do something with a plot that contains European cruises somehow. I think that’s just a residual effect from watching Ghost Ship a few weeks ago. Sometimes too many movies can be a bad thing for my brain. I get ideas and forget about the stuff I’ve already started. I don’t think that’s too much of a threat right now. I know what I’m supposed to be working on, and I have the ideas. I just haven’t had the time or motivation to get them out of my head yet. Soon, though, I hope to.

Movie Mania
Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

I went to the movies last night for the first time in what seems like forever. I went to see Horton Hears A Who! with my mom, Bart, and Tori. It was the first time Tori had ever been to the show. I think she did pretty good and liked it well enough. It was a cute movie. I won’t say I loved it, but I still enjoyed it. Over the weekend, I watched Tuck Everlasting and Breach. They were both pretty good. I also go Awake from my mom, but I haven’t had time to watch it. I might try to do that sometime today after I do some more.

I got my cap and gown yesterday at school, so graduation is slowly closing in. This is where I pull my hair and scream. There’s still just a lot left to do. I think I’m making pretty good headway on my portfolio, but I also have a big group project that we’re probably going to be working on constantly for the next week and a half. I think it’s going to be fun, though.

I need to make the invitations for my graduation still. I can’t decide if I want to invite my dad. That sounds horrible, but just the idea of facing him is enough to give me an anxiety attack. The best gift he could give me for graduation would be checking himself into drug rehab and getting his life straightened out. Of course, that’s something he can’t do for me. He had to do if for himself, and I doubt he ever will.

Last night I managed to do some writing for the first time in what feels like forever. It was for my story Solace, which is a sequel to Infinite. I only wrote about a page or so, but considering the only other thing I’ve written this year was about a chapter and a half of another story, I’m not complaining. Any progress is progress in my eyes.

Keep Dreaming
Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Well, today was really pretty uneventful. I finished my color comp sketch for my Wednesday night class and watched Tori for a while. Of course, we had to watch her nursery rhymes. I really need to find out the actual title of that and see if I can find it on DVD. I fear the day the VHS tape gives out and she can no longer watch it. It won’t be pretty, of that I’m sure.

Once again I’ve been thinking about wanting to redo my bedroom. I found some really pretty Bush furniture bedroom sets that I liked quite a lot. Of course, I think my bedroom would be too short to do much with. I cannot wait for the day when I can afford my own place and won’t be cramped up in a small bedroom. Until then, I suppose I’ll just have to keep dreaming.

There hasn’t been much on television the last few nights. I think my shows are starting to go into repeats. Luckily, the other night I caught the movie Tin Man on Sci-Fi and I’ve been watching it. I forgot about it tonight and missed the first 20 minutes, so I’m just going to watch when it comes on again at 11 to avoid any confusion.

I can’t believe this semester will be over on December 15th. I have so much to do before then, but I’m excited for the break.

Long Weekend
Monday, September 3rd, 2007

I went to see Halloween with my brother on Friday. We went to the 4:50 show, and I was actually kind of surprised by how many people showed up for that showing. I thought the movie was pretty good. I tried to go in not thinking of comparing it to the original, so I think that was probably why I thought it was pretty good. I still prefer the original, but as a stand alone movie, Rob Zombie’s take on things was a good. It wasn’t as gory and gross as I expected either.

I went to lab on Friday morning, so by the time I got home from the movies, I was pretty tired. I wound up going to bed at eight. Then on Saturday I worked on some more of my assignments. The texture scene is the one I’m most worried about getting finished. It’s just a lot of work to try to make things look like they fit.

I actually forgot that this weekend was a long one. We didn’t do anything special around here. I’m jealous of those people who can afford to go for the weekend and rent a place on the Outer Banks and just chill out for a few days. I suppose there’s always next year. We used to always go camping over the weekend, but we haven’t done that in years. I kind of miss those days, but Bart sold the camper and I’m really not too keen on roughing it and sleeping on the ground. I’m wimp. Oh well.

Busy, busy!
Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Class was fine yesterday. Graphic Design 2 was okay. We worked on our first assignment. It’s our “identity” logo or whatever. I’ll post when mine is finished. Got lots of (good) suggestions during critiques, so I must figure out how to do things. Electronic Imaging made my head spin. Our first assignment is a doozy. We have to make a realistic scene using textures. I’ll be working on it forever, I swear. TOO MANY ASSIGNMENTS. My head will explode and we’ll see pieces of Illustrator and Photoshop scattered about. But I learned how to use layer masks and blending masks. Totally psyched to start using them. I’m so nerdy.

I’m going to see Halloween with Blaine and Cody tomorrow. YAY! *horror freak* I’m not looking forward to getting up at 7:30 to go to the computer lab tomorrow. I can foresee a nap sometime after I get home. Lab time makes me sleep. Sad. I also need to go to the bank and cash a couple of checks and go by the gas station.

The best news is MY CAR IS FIXED! Yes, that does call for all caps because it’s been a piece of poo for THREE YEARS. The problem? The spark plugs. No joke. That was all that needed to be fixed. Too bad the stupid people that did the tune up ages ago didn’t change them like they were supposed to. Bah.

I was just reading about progesterone cream and I realized I totally could have used this a couple of weeks ago. Normally, I don’t have cramps all that bad, but it was pretty bad last month. Anyway, the cream is supposed to help prevent them among many, many other things. It’s only $24.95, and if I have cramps this month like I did last month, it would probably totally worth buying. We’ll see.

I’m so tired. I think I’ll be calling it a night early.
