4th of July Recap & Friday 5
Friday, July 6th, 2007

The Def Leppard, Reo Speedwagon, and Styx concert is today. Albeit, much later today. I’m still really excited about it, though. I haven’t been to a concert in what feels like ages. It’s probably been two years. :(

Yesterday, I walked down the back road again. My cousins Cole and Cassie stayed the night and Cassie walked with me, but I think I was too slow for her. What I wouldn’t give to have the energy of a nine-year-old again. It was awfully hot. There was some shade for a little bit, but then the sun came back out. I keep hoping that maybe I’ll get a bit of a tan or something from being outside, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.

For the 4th of July, we had a cook out here. Everyone came out around six, and we had a good time. The food was really good, and time just seemed to fly. We kind of had to hurry and leave to go to my mom’s to watch the fireworks. She lives about half a mile from where the set off the fireworks, so we had a pretty good view from her backyard. We made s’mores with my mom’s stermo s’more maker, and then we stuck around her place for about half an hour or so after the fireworks were over because traffic was insane. All in all, it was a good time.

FRIDAY FIVE

1. Given as a percentage, approximately what are the chances that there is a french fry somewhere in your car? If you do not own a car, what are the chances that there is a french fry somewhere in the car you most frequently ride in?
I’d say there’s about a 50% chance. I don’t eat in my car all that often, but I haven’t cleaned it in a very long time either.

What was the best gift you received?
Hmm … this would probably have to be getting to go and see my favorite band - Hanson - two days in a row with my best friend, Nikki. It was such a blast.

What was the worst gift you received?
One year for Christmas my mom gave me an OMC CD. Remember the song “How Bizarre?” Yeah, that CD. She seemed to think I actually liked that song for some reason. Meanwhile, my sister got a Matchbox 20 CD, which was what I actually wanted.

What gift did you wish for, but never got?
An iPod! I’m still wishing for one.

What was the best present you gave?
The best one I ever gave was probably the poem I wrote for my sister and gave to her on Christmas ‘06. It made her cry.

What was the worst present you gave?
One year for Mother’s Day I totally spaced out and forgot it was coming up, so I went to a random store and bought her a pillow. It was one with stitching on it, but it was just so lame. Not really the type of thing you should give the woman you brought you into this world.

1. If you were going to remake a movie, what would it be and who would you cast in the roles?
I would say Halloween, but they’re already doing a remake, so …

2. If you could turn a book into a movie, what would it be and who would you cast in the roles?
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. It’s such a good book, and I think it would translate really well to film. As for the cast? Hmm … I would really have to think about this for a while.

3. If you were going to turn a video game into a movie, what would it be? Would it be animated or live-action?
I don’t like video games, so I wouldn’t turn any of them into a movie.

4. You’re going to turn a book into a TV series. What is it? Why would it make a good TV show?
This is just too hard, so I’ll just say one that’s already been adapted from a book that I like - The Dead Zone.

5. Do you generally prefer the movie versions or the novel versions of works?
I usually prefer the novel. They always seem to cut out too much in the movies and change things up even when they don’t need any changing.

5. Go on a date with?
Draco. What can I say? I have a thing for bad boys. :)
