I feel like I’ve been dropped into the middle of a Garth Brooks songs. The thunder rolls and the lightning strikes. Not nearly as appealing as the song, let me tell you. It’s been like this since yesterday. In town in front of my mom’s apartment, two phone poles were blown over and a truck was caught in the wires. Bart had to call 911. It was insanity. It makes me nervous. If I was smart, I’d just sleep through it all like Blaine did.

On a completely different topic, I’m beginning to wish that when I ordered my computer I’d got more computer memory. I got 1gb, which is better than the old computer because it was running 512mb, but I usually have 3 or 4 main programs running on my computer at a time, and they’re iTunes, FireFox, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Dreamweaver, and between the 4 of them, it just drains the memory. I don’t know if I could just upgrade to more memory or not, but at least I’ll know better next time.

I think I’m going through some weird obsessive phase lately. The other day I cleaned up all of my memorable entries on livejournal. When I started reading a book, I can’t stop until I’m finished, and if I have to go stop and sleep, I get right back to what I was doing as soon as I’m up. Now I’m working on going through my favorites. That probably doesn’t sound like much, except I have a vast number of websites bookmarked. Some of them I can’t even remember why I bookmarked them. I must have had some reason for doing so at the time.

I found some cute stuff in my “stores” bookmarks. I had some wedding dresses favorited, and I guess I can understand why. There was one with this corset top and flowing skirt that was really pretty. I’m pretty sure that I was going to use it as a reference picture for one of my stories. Which story, though, I’m not exactly sure.

I still have a lot of stuff to go through, but I guess it’s necessary. There’s no sense in letting a bunch of junk pile up, computer or not. I really need to find a job, though. This crazy obsessiveness is, well, crazy.

Well, I got a call yesterday and my bed will be in on Tuesday. They’re delivering it sometime on Wednesday, and I can’t even begin to explain how happy I’ll be to sleep in my own bed once again. The couch is not comfortable, and after sleeping on it for a week, it’s a wonder I can even stand up straight.

I was looking at some directbuy articles about bedroom furniture, and there were some really cute bed frames. Unfortunately, most of them were for full sized or bigger. It’s going to be weird sleeping on a twin. I can’t even remember the last time I had a twin size bed. I think it will be okay, though. The mattress felt really comfy when I sat on it to test it out. Of course, after the couch, I think anything would feel comfortable. It’ll be nice to have my room complete. It seems so bare without a bed in here.

Honestly, I feel very weird being back in my room all alone. It seems so far away from everyone else. My grandma told me I’d just have to come out of my bedroom more. I don’t think I’ll have much of a choice. I used to always stay in the computer room because I could watch TV and work on stuff in there. I don’t have that luxury anymore. I miss the television. Not that I really watch a whole lot of it anyway, but even so.

I haven’t blogged in so long, and I feel terrible. I’ve been insanely busy. I’m on spring break right now, but it’s hardly been much of a break. I bought a new computer, and in order to get the thing in my bedroom, I’ve had to do some major rearranging. I’ve bought a new bed and a desk, and I’ve been going through all of my old junk, getting rid of stuff I don’t need. It’s amazing how much junk you can collect without even realizing it. I think I’ve got my desk mostly in order. It would be nice, though, if I had a speaker mount for my speakers because right now they’re kind of behind my monitor - not so much that I can’t hear then, but if they were better placed, it would be nice. So I’ve got some more cleaning up to do, but I’m sure I’ll have plenty more to post about as my spring cleaning continues.

Well, today is my mom’s birthday. She just turned 41. I don’t think she looks her age, honestly. I don’t know. I guess that’s a good thing, though. Maybe it will be a genetic thing. God knows my dad looks old, so my mom looking young might help balance things out. Of course, my mom dad smokes and drinks and that’s sure to age him quite a bit.

Anyway, dinner was good. My mom seemed to like all of her gifts as well, so she seemed rather happy. It was a good time. I, honestly, like when we get together for birthdays and stuff. It’s nice to have the whole family together and just talk. We don’t seem to do enough of that.

The weather’s been weird. It’s supposed to warm up a bit for the next couple of days before it gets cold again. I think the snow and ice has been taking it’s toll on my internet connection. Sometimes it will go out for an hour or so at a time. It’s rather annoying, honestly.

My grandpa ran Norton’s to scan the computer last week. There were a few files on the computer that needed to be fixed and some other security fixes. It would be nice if we used cisco. They have firewalls and intrusion detection systems, but that’s more for bigger networks, so it’s way out of our price range. Oh well, I guess Norton’s will do for now.
