The end is in sight!
Monday, May 5th, 2008

So I have my portfolio presentation today. It went well, surprisingly. I didn’t freeze up and completely lose my train of thought, which is a vast improvement from what happened at the practice presentation.

I cut my hair yesterday. I lost about eight inches, and when it’s straight it still doesn’t quite reach my chin, so it’s really short. This is my final week of classes, and I have one final down and three to go.

My grandma has also decided that I need to send out graduation invitation even though I know just the immediate family is going to go, but I guess I have to make them to send along with the open house invitations.

So once I finish classes, I’ll probably be swept up into cleaning like a mad woman to make the house nice and pretty. Now, I’m not kidding. My grandma goes crazy with the cleaning when people are coming over. The only thing missing are the steam cleaners, but I think that’s only for a lack of money.

But I guess I shouldn’t complain. I just hope I can talk her into addressing all of the envelopes. It’s bad enough I have to make my own invitations.

Skin Issues
Friday, December 21st, 2007

Ugh, last night my brother, sister and I were talking about our skin. We all seem to be in the midst of the dry skin or acne crisis. I was looking at skinceuticals, and I wonder if it actually works. The problem is that I’m not exactly sure which thing I need. My skin seems to bounce back and forth between dry and oily. It’s very weird. Maybe I’ll be able to buy something after Christmas. I’m expecting some money as gifts, so that will help.

Birthday Parties and Icky Weather
Monday, December 3rd, 2007

Note to self: pens are not the best writing utensil when trying to sketch or outline something. I learned this today while trying to write Trey’s name on his birthday card. I wanted to make it pretty, but I was in a car and only had a pen to use to do this, so it looked a little shady. Oh well. Not like he really cared that much anyway.

His birthday party was at Pizza Hut. Can’t believe he’s ten! It just seems insane. I, of course, ate too much. I only should have had one breadstick. I think that’s what did me in. Oh well. I doubt I’ll ever learn. The cake was delic as well. Yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

Blaine tried to take over my iPod, and then Tori decided she wanted to hear “Girlfriend” by Gable. That’s what she calls Avril Lavigne. I really have no idea where she got that from, but it’s cute anyway.

I got my hair cut yesterday. I would say I got about five or six inches cut off. It feels and looks so much better. It’s just weird, though. I’ll go to try to pull it back in a ponytail, and I can’t. Well, I could but it would look ridiculous.

Speaking of ridiculous, the weather has been horrid today. It poured on the way home from Trey’s birthday party. It was dark by four and just all around yucky. I hate this time of year.

Not Holding My Breath
Monday, August 27th, 2007

I think I can say my weekend was well and perfectly boring. I didn’t do much of anything worthwhile. Not that I’m really complaining. Sometimes it’s just nice not to do anything. Grandma and I went to the grocery store on Friday evening. We went by the Dollar Store down the road from it first to buy some other stuff, but they didn’t have any carts in the store, so we didn’t end up getting everything we needed.

We still need to go back to the store. I need to get cat litter and cat food for Smokey. I also need some hair products. I got shampoo and conditioner, but they didn’t have the Fructis hair cream I’ve been using. I really like it, so I wanted to get more, but I’ll have to wait. I also need to get some more skin care products. I’ve been using Clean & Clear acne cream, and I’m about out. It seems to work the best, which is surprising since most of the other Clean & Clear stuff I’ve used has caused me to break out. I’m not sure why either. It’s weird. Hopefully we’ll go by the store today or tomorrow.

I dropped my car off at the shop last night. I’m hoping to hear back on what’s wrong with it. I’m hoping that it will be something cheap that works to fix the problem. I probably shouldn’t hold my breath, though, since nothing else seems to have worked so far. There’s always hope, though, I suppose.

My Achy Breaky Back
Monday, July 16th, 2007

One week from today I’ll be at Holiday World. It’s a theme park in southern Indiana. I, honestly, can’t remember the last time I went there. I was pretty young. I do remember seeing pictures, but as far as actually remembering it, I can’t. I’m excited to go. I haven’t been to a theme park since my mom, sister, brother and I went to King’s Island about three years ago.

Of course, my biggest concern with going is trying not to get burned. My skin is so fair that it usually takes a lot of sunscreen to keep from ending up looking like a lobster. I have a feeling before it’s all over, I might need to go to one of those San Diego day spas you see in the movies or I’ve heard a few friends mention. Sleeping on our couch has done nothing to help me get much rest. I might also need to see a chiropractor. My neck and back are killing me, and I’ve been getting a lot of headaches. It’s very annoying.
