If you or someone you know are living with a disability, then it’s important that you are aware of the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association – better known as NMEDA.

While NMEDA does not sell anything itself, it is a non-profit association that helps to insure safe driving and equipment for those who are disabled as well as educate consumers on buying qualified products from NMEDA dealers.

Members of NMEDA must abide by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration standards, and NMEDA dealers are members of the association who sell the products, such as vehicle modifications and handicap vans for people who are disabled.

As well as dealers who sell these products, NMEDA has the Quality Assurance Program, or QAP, dealers, which is based on the principle that companies must have a systematic and documented approached to quality in order to satisfy customers. The Quality Assurance Program is the only nationally recognized accreditation program for the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry. The program insures that dealers meet the needs of the consumers and that the products and performance are the safest and most reliable.

Through the help of a NMEDA dealer, it is possible for disabled and/or elderly people to regain and/or keep their independence. Finding an NMEDA dealer is easy. The NMEDA site provides a link on the site to Locate a Dealer. By simply typing in your location, you can find dealers in your area to help you or someone else you know on their way to regaining or remaining safe and independent.

It’s been a weird week thus far.

My sleeping pattern is all out of whack yet again, and I’m not feeling well. I don’t know if the two are related. Either I’m sick because my sleep is messed up or my sleep is messed up because I haven’t been feeling well. Either way, I’m not overly thrilled.

I feel like I’ve lost several days because of it, and that’s never a nice thing.

I was up until 9 am this morning. Then I fell asleep until around 4. Not good.

Tomorrow I have to watch my nephew for a couple of hours while my sister’s at work and my grandparents are getting my niece off to school and they go to get their flu shots. Here’s hoping I can either stay up long enough to watch him or go to sleep early. I think there’s about a 50/50 chance either way.

I do, however, know that I’m getting too old for this kind of stuff.

The custody hearing for my niece was today. My grandma was late getting there and getting the full story from my sister is next to impossible. Suffice it to say, things ended a little strangely. The hearing was continued until the end of next month. In the meantime, my grandma was granted temporary custody of my niece. As I said, we’re not exactly sure how this happened. It came down to her dad or my grandma getting custody. I have no idea why my sister wasn’t an option. She’s supposed to get a lawyer before the next hearing, and I guess things will go from there. I don’t really know what to think of it. It’s all a bit of a mess.

After a month long hiatus from Weight Watchers and exercising, I’m starting back up again. Now that I know how much better I feel when I’m exercising, I’ve truly missed it. July was a pretty awful month in the grand scheme of things, and my motivation and concentration were just elsewhere. Now that things have started to settle back down, I think I’m ready to get my head back in the game, so to speak. I lost 15 pounds in about 12 weeks while on Weight Watchers and participating in a livejournal community. The fall 12 week challenge is starting today, so it feels like the perfect time to get back with it.

I just hope I can stay focused, regardless of anything else that comes up. That seems to be my biggest issue. I get distracted or stressed out and just seem to lose sight of my goals. Also, the fact that food is often my go-to for comfort probably doesn’t help the situation any.

It’s probably going to take a bit of time to get myself back to where I was before I fell off the Weight Watchers wagon, but hopefully it won’t be as hard as starting was in the first place. I want to lose this weight. Then I need to learn how to keep it off. I think that will be hardest part, but I’m not going to concern myself with that just yet. Getting to my goal weight is my main objective. Everything else, I can deal with once I’m there.

As important as a good education is, it is sometimes very difficult to find the time to attend classes – especially if you are a working adult with a family to support. Luckily, the option of earning a degree online is more readily available than it has been in the past.

Thanks to convenience and flexibility, aspiring and current teachers can attend the USC Rossier School of Education’s MAT@USC elite university to earn their prestigious Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from a School of Education that has been ranked #9 among all private universities by US News and World Report and #22 in the United States. Thanks to their highly interactive learning program combined with field-based experience and accelerated programs, you can complete your degree in as few as 12 months!

The program includes technological video that introduces the interactivity of the program, and AACTE awarded Rossier and the MAT@USC for their innovative use of technology in education. Also, if you are looking for program information and want to hear real testimonials from actual students, you can do so through the MAT@USC Student Blog.

Attending USC also offers the opportunity to join the elite USC Trojan family as well as gain full USC student status and benefits, including participating in commencement ceremonies and a free lifetime Alumni Association membership.

Since money is typically a huge issue when it comes to going to college – either for the first time or returning – it’s important to know that thanks to USC’s groundbreaking tuition reimbursement program and scholarships, money is less of an issue. So why not look into a good opportunity to further your education in a convenient way?

After all the trouble my sister had with the place she was planning to move into and the whole deal falling through, today she found a place. I guess it all happened very fast because she’s been working on cleaning up the place most of today. I guess it’s a four-bedroom house, so that would definitely be nice. I just hope that she can keep it up because the rent is pretty high. But it’s good news, nonetheless.

I’ve been thinking about how I want to update my domain and spruce the site up a bit. It’s usually something I tend to think about more than actually do, but I’ve got a few ideas that I can, hopefully, put into motion soon.

It’s baffling to me that failed-to-say.net will be seven years old this December. Furthermore, in the seven years since I bought, I’ve owned three more domains and purchased and hosted two others for a friend. Two of the domains I owned are actually up for renewal in August. One of them was a gift for a friend that I won’t be renewing, and the other is one that I bought a few years ago and have decided to let expire since I haven’t put it to much use.

It was a difficult, but necessary, decision. Parting with a domain that I loved, but haven’t really used, makes me sad, but I’m happy with the other three that I will still have.

I’ve come a long way since I bought my first one. I really had no idea what I was doing when I bought it, and most of my friends were pretty clueless as well, which is unfortunate. Maybe if I’d had better references, it would have been an easier process.

I think the most difficult part was choosing a good vps web hosting service. The first hosting service I used was not the best by any measure. There were a lot of problems and getting help wasn’t always easy. I found a new hosting service eventually, and while the move to the new server was a bit tedious, it was definitely for the best.

Like anything, of course, there has been the occasional issue, but getting help or having my questions answered has always come very quickly, which I truly appreciate.

Anyway, I’m hoping to make some content changes very soon. Failed-to-say.net has gone through several changes since I bought it, and while I’ve ventured away from my initial uses for it, I would like to whip it into shape and add some things to make it better.

I know I touched briefly on this, but I really didn’t go into much detail about the situation, but my sister has been staying with us for the last month. She had only planned to be here a couple of weeks because she had to be out of her old place and her new one wouldn’t be available right away.

When she went to see about getting into the new one, she was told it would be another week because they were still working on getting things ready for her to move in. Then, this week she went to see about getting in and she was told it would be another week, after she made the down payment.

Now, she’s reluctant to hand over somewhere around $500 when she isn’t sure that come next Friday the place will actually be ready. I understand her hesitation. I would be wary as well.

However, there is a part of me that is just ready for her to move out. I love my sister, niece and nephew. Truly, I do. But I just really want my home back.

Since my sister has been here, her stuff seems to have taken over the living room and kitchen. The living room looks like a baby’s nursery threw up all over it. The baby’s pack and play takes up most of the room, which was small to begin with, and there’s really nowhere to sit in the living room, so I’ve essentially exiled myself to my bedroom because if I wasn’t claustrophobic before, I may very well be now.

It’s just a frustrating situation and made moreso by the fact that there’s really nowhere to place the blame.

Regardless, today, my mom had the day off from work, and she is watching my niece and nephew while my sister is a work. It’s been a nice reprieve because nephew is almost seven months old. As of yesterday, he started crawling and got his first tooth. While these are both exciting developments, the teething has been anything but fun. I’ve heard my nephew cry and throw more fits this week than I have in the seven month since he was born.

So, for now, I shall enjoy the blissfulness of the quietude; at least, until the young ones return.
